About Sharadhe Music School
For those who want to express with music
About Us
Unlock the musical mind
At Sharadhe Music School, we see music as a fundamental form of expression, and that it’s no different from learning a new language. Once anyone learns to sing, it can become one of the most beautiful and indispensable tools to experience inner joy. With the right training and the right mindset, anyone can learn how to sing, irrespective of age or musical background. Carnatic music is no different. But just like any serious sport, it requires the necessary time, effort and the right kind of training to perfect the art!
We recognize that Carnatic music can be challenging to some, including those with “musical ears”, especially if you didn’t come with generational exposure to this art form. So we take utmost care to demystify the intricacies scientifically, and then explore it as an art form. When science is take care of, art automatically flows and that’s when the true joy of singing unfolds.

Founder & Head of School
Jayashree Nagarajan, a software engineer at Meta, carries a strong passion for music since she was 5. She also holds deep passion for neuroscience, psychology and productivity habits that she believes led her into building a successful career in tech, despite her early struggles with cracking tough coding interviews.
Though music came naturally to her, it wasn’t until her late 20s that she started taking formal vocal training in Carnatic music. Today, she not only performs, but also teaches singing lessons – drawing on both her musical instincts and the same neuroscience backed learning methods that shaped her successful engineering career. She takes pride in not just teaching how to sing, but showing her students how to learn.
I want to see a shift in the stereotypical notion and age-old belief systems deeply rooted in the Indian cultural ethos, from a notion of prodigies to democratizing the art of music making.
I am on a mission to give people the most effective learning tools that will unlock the musical mind.

My Musical Training
For over a decade, I’ve trained under the guidance of dedicated gurus Sri C.V.P. Sastry Chivukula and Smt. Apoorva Ravindran, and I’m currently pursuing advanced training in manodharma (improvisation) and concert performance. I’ve also had the privilege of learning through workshops led by legends such as Vidwan Dr. R. Suryaprakash, Dr. R. S. Jayalakshmi, Sri N. Vijay Siva, Sangeeth Samrat Chitravina N. Ravikiran, the Trichur Brothers, and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Vidhwan Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan.
My Teaching Philosophy
Having returned to formal music training as an adult, I’ve experienced firsthand the doubts many late learners carry—"Is it too late?" "Do I have the talent?" My answer today, shaped by my journey, is a confident no: it is never too late, and talent is often just the result of smart, consistent effort.
